What if the new love of your life also holds the keys to your past?
When Chicago journalist Tom Welsh meets British banker Sanders Templeton at a conference, Sanders insists they have a connection, though he does not know what it is. They’ve never met before—but the strangest thing is, Tom can also feel it.
Sanders Templeton is a highflier who has it all—the money, the lifestyle and a rare intellect. Only a few chosen people know that he also suffers excruciating pain since childhood, with no cure, a mystery to western medicine.
Sanders knows that meeting Tom may be the most significant event of his life. As their relationship deepens, they learn that this is not the first lifetime in which they’ve fallen for each other. This time, true love can be theirs if they find the courage to forgive.
This is a standalone novel in the Witches of London world.

I really enjoyed this second in the “Witches of London” series. My only gripe would be that the witches themselves seem to be sidelined for the most part—although one of them, Lee, plays a critical role in the narrative. The book is not really about the witches or that lovely support group of like-minded individuals we met in “Lars.” That’s sort of too bad.But this is the story of Tom Welsh, an independent American financial journalist, and Sanders Templeton, an aristocratic English financier whose suave demeanor masks a life of chronic pain. These men, both in their mid-30s, meet at a rarified finance conference in Chicago, and Tom is instantly drawn to Sanders. What he doesn’t know is that Sanders has been virtually stalking him, because of an old photograph in his collection that seems to be of Tom—except that it’s a World War II image from long before Tom’s birth.
And thus begins an adventure of emotional cat and mouse, of physical attraction and psychological manipulation. Sanders’ inability to understand how his behavior hurts and confuses Tom is deeply rooted in something buried inside. Tom’s intense bond with Sanders seems both somehow beyond his ability to control, but at the same time based on their genuine intellectual and physical connection. When Sanders finally opens up to Tom about his forays into hypnosis and past-life regression, it’s up to Tom to decide if his feelings are worth the tsuris. (Good Yiddish word, look it up.)
This is when Lee makes his entrance., One of Lars’ circle of friends in the first Witches of London book, Lee appears well along in the storyline, and only then does one realize that he is at the center of what will transpire. Interestingly, Lee is presented as the same sort of gentle, enigmatic person he was in “Lars.” You don’t really learn much about him, but you do end up feeling that this is someone you’d like to have as a close friend. If you hadn’t read the first book, this wouldn’t matter. The authors do a fantastic job of creating a sense of place—both in Chicago and London, and in past places that figure into the plot as its complexities are unfolded. They also work very hard to make both Tom and Sanders into richly developed, interesting, not entirely lovable men. They both have issues, and while Sanders’ are fairly traumatic, Tom’s are just as profound, even though they are ultimately subtler and less apparent on the surface. Tom and Sanders must solve their problems together, but it is Sanders who holds the key. For him, it is a matter of life and death.
I am not any sort of believer in past lives or in spiritual journeying. But I don’t scoff at it, and the emotional power of the story was, for me, very strong. Even if I don’t believe, maybe I want to believe, and books like this (as “Lars” did before) offer up the great pleasures of possibility.

Witches of London Eagle Shadow edition by Aleksandr Voinov Jordan Taylor Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
A powerful novel which includes some of the characters from the Witches of London group, but doesn't focus on them. The story centers on two men who are strangely drawn together. Some of the story is very intense but absolutely worth reading. Would recommend it to people who are not following this series, and if you are, it's a must have people !!
I really like this book.
Two main characters that drew you in and great secondary characters with interesting lives and beliefs.
Tom and Sanders together were so good together and to see snapshots of former lives and how it impacted on the here and now was fascinating.
It was a tough read at times seeing into the past and I am very glad that I don't live in any of the times the boys passed through.
This was great writing engaging from the first words with kept you involved and wanting the pain for both Tom and Sanders to be resolved.
While the characters didn't resonate with me like they did in the Lars novel, the writing carried me through. Sanders was a difficult character to like, and I struggled with Tom"s forgiving if Sander's Franky cold manipulation. In the end, it was hard fie me to see the romance. Perhaps be cause I never felt there was a concrete moment when Sanders realized that what he felt was more than the past life connection. The power imbalance between the two always seemed off.
But I also appreciated the arthors' integrity to the character. And for all Tom's capitulation to Sander's demands, he remained himself. He never sought to change himself or silence his own voice.
My only criticism of the writing is minor...Tom often just didn't sound American )
As with the first I loved the spiritual elemts. As someone who lives with chronic pain, this aspect was done weith sensitivity and compassion.
Overall an excellent book that I was so exvitec to read. Can not wait for the next one and I'm really hoping it's about Jillian.
This is related to Witches of London - Lars, but it's important to note this is not really paranormal as the title would suggest. I'm still thinking about this book 24 hours later. There are certain elements I really don't understand, and a few silly editing mistakes, but it stayed with me. The reincarnation and past life regression aspects were really interesting. Lee is a great character to connect this book with Witches of London - Lars (though when Julian turns up briefly it makes me squirm - I just dislike that character). The balance between Tom's impulsiveness and Sanders' careful deliberation made for some good friction. A few of the elements that confused me a bit but didn't take me out of the story. The sexual tension between the two characters was nice, though the act fell apart for acceptable story reasons. Ultimately, my main confusion stems from what seems like an imbalance in punishment for something that happened in the past. Even with my confusion, I was captivated by the book and couldn't put it down.
Having read the wonderful first book in this series I was anxious to see how Aleksander Voinov would follow up. Would this be a one and done effort or could Voinov deliver another book as interesting and arresting as Lars? It is a BETTER! Now that the stage is set, we are being drawn into stories that have some of the characters developing further in there own time. And none of that soft landing, this story delivers the grit and confusion that physical pain clothes the person. One person is drawn to another, but the persons drawn causes such negative physical malady that your caught up in the confusion and backstory-and then Lee steps in, and the knitting begins. You see cause and effect of the meeting between the characters and how Lee uses his abilities to help understand and-well then you have to read and follow for yourself. I loved it. I really enjoy the imagery that Voinov imparts and his research into the backstory is right on the tone needed to make this story so clear and powerful!
